An Additional Secretary of Bangladesh government died of novel coronavirus on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Taufiqul Alam, 59.

Agriculturist Taufiqul Alam, the student of 82 batch of Bangladesh Agricultural University, breathed his last at 10:00 am at Dhaka Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment.

Md Khairul Alam Prince, Secretary General of Krishibid Institute of Bangladesh, confirmed the matter to media.
