Narayanganj DC-Civil Surgeon at quarantine

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) and the Civil Surgeon of Narayanganj district were at home quarantine and they did not come to the office on Wednesday.

DC Jasim Uddin’s samples were collected on Wednesday noon for testing Covid-19 infection and were sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) in Dhaka.

Moreover, Narayanganj Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Jahidul Islam was also staying isolated at home suspecting coronavirus infection, local correspondent reports.

It also reported that Jayedul Alam, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Narayanganj, was also following self-quarantine.

According to sources from Narayanganj DC office, DC Jasim Uddin, also the president of District Corona Prevention Committee, had been taking rest at his bungalow from Wednesday morning after he fell sick on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Imtiaz, Member Secretary of District Corona Prevention Committee and district civil surgeon was in quarantine from Wednesday.

Admitting his absence, Civil Surgeon Imtiaz said, “Actually, I’m at home quarantine, doing my businesses from home, giving directives over phones.”

SP Jayedul Alam said, “I’m fine. I’m not in quarantine. As I went close to Health and Family Planning Officer Jahidul Islam, who is a suspected corona patient, I’m maintaining distance, performing my duties from home, and at this moment we all should contain the corona situation maintaining social distance.

Health officer Jahidul Islam said, “I’m in isolation. I’m sick, physical condition is not good. I’m doing my job over the mobile phone as much as I can.”

It is noted that six persons including one woman were died of Covid-19 in Narayanganj so far. A total of 43 people including doctor, nurse, Ward Boy had been infected with coronavirus. They were being treated under IEDCR.
