District administration on Wednesday declared Jamalpur district under complete lockdown for preventing further spread of the coronavirus.
The lockdown had been enforced from 9:00 pm on Wednesday night after a pharmacist of Madarganj Upazila health complex was tested positive for Covid-19.According to the district administration and health department, so far, two coronavirus infected patients have been detected in the district. In a bid to prevent the transmission of the virus lockdown was declared in the district.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Mohammad Enamul Haque said, the decision of ‘sealing’ the district was taken to ensure social distancing. Interdistrict connecting roads will be shut. The decision was taken to stop coronavirus infection in this district. A public notice regarding the lockdown will be issued. Everything will be mentioned in that notice.
DC said the entire Jamalpur will remain under complect lockdown until further notice. At this time movement of people, vehicular movements, shops and public meetings are strictly prohibited. However, ambulances, medicines, daily essentials shop, media cars will be out of the ban.
A public notice regarding the lockdown will be issued. Everything will be mentioned in that notice, he added.
