Telecommunications Ministry launches Corona identifier app

The Posts and Telecommunications Ministry has introduced corona identifier apps in a bid to check Covid-19 spread and carry out public awareness.

The posts and telecommunications division on Sunday announced the launching of the apps through an official release.

The apps were launched on an experimental basis, but subscribers are using it through Google’s APIC platform.

The APIC platform provides a common platform for your designers, developers and testers.

The apps will help to overcome fear about coronavirus and will also help provide information about the infected persons.

The state-owned TeleTalk will operate the apps with providing technical support by the Radisson Digital Technologies Limited.

The state-owned the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) will connect with the TeleTalk for providing the services.

The apps will also help to provide information about particular persons and others infected in particular geographical location.

It will also help to test the suspected COVID-19 using the apps with in minute, said the release.

Talking over the issue, Posts and Telecom Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the apps will help to provide information and persons in quarantine due to Covid-19.

“Our research and development team works round the clock to ensure the acceptability of the apps,” he said.

Posts and Telecom Secretary Md Nur-ur-Rahman said the apps will help to reduce risk of health hazards to identify coronavirus patients.

TeleTalk Managing Director Md Shahabuddin said TeleTalk will always work for reducing disaster. The apps will help to provide instant information and work accordingly.

Radisson Digital Technologies Limited Managing Director Delwar Hossain Faruq said the apps will help the users identify Covid-19 patients within their six feet.

He also said China, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore will reduce their Covid-19 risk, using blue teeth and location tracking though the apps.
