Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has started distributing essential commodities for the ultra-poor day labourers, workless rickshaw-van pullers and helpless people through councilors at ward level.    

As part of this activity, DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon distributed essential commodities to ten ward councilors for the impoverished people at the Nagar Bhaban in the city on Thursday.  

Five hundred packets were allocated for each ward. The wards are: 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26.

The ward councilors will start distributing essential commodities from tomorrow. 

Sayeed Khokon said the food products will be distributed among the ward councilors of the corporation in phases. 

Earlier, the DSCC mayor distributed essential commodities to around 1000 rickshaw-van pullers at Bangshal Chowrasta area.

He also urged people to stay at home and maintain social distancing.
