Former captain of Bangladesh Cricket Team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is distributing food assistance to some 1200 poor families of his constituency in Narail-2 during the unannounced lockdown in the country to contain spread of deadly coronavirus.
The ruling party MP of Narail-2 has started the food distribution programme in Narail Sadar and Lohagara upazila on Friday.The food support includes five kilograms of rice, one liter of oil, one kilogram of pulses, one kg of potatoes, one kg of salt and a soap for per family.
Jamil Ahmed Sani, personal secretary of Mashrafe, confirmed the news.
Moreover, the star cricketer also arranged 200 PPEs for doctors, nurses and journalists.
Earlier, top 27 cricketers of Bangladesh have expended their hand to help fight against deadly coronavirus by donating 50 percent of their salary for one month to the government.
IEDCR on Friday announced that four more people, including two doctors, were diagnosed with Covid-19 disease in Bangladesh, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 48.
Bangladesh has so far reported five deaths from coronavrius.
