Eight civilians were killed as a roadside bomb struck a car in Musa Qala district of Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province on Wednesday, provincial government spokesman Omar Zawak said.
The incident happened in Musa Qala district when a car ran over a mine Wednesday morning leaving all the eight onboard dead, Zawak said.
The official said investigation is underway.
Musa Qala district has been regarded as the bastion of Taliban militants in the relatively troubled and poppy growing Helmand province with Lashkar Gah as its capital 555 km south of Kabul.
