BSFMSTU celebrates 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu

Jamalpur’s Bangamata Sheikh Fajilatunnesa Muzib Science and Technology University (BSFMSTU) celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday with befitting manner.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Samsuddin Ahmed started the day with placing a floral wreath at the portraits of Bangabandhu and Bangamata at the main campus of the university in Melandaha upazila of the district.

The VC then cut a birthday cake of Bangabandhu flanked with teachers, employees and students. He recalled the memories of Bangbandhu’s great leadership, ideology and struggles to liberate the country with great respect.

He also mentioned Bangamata Fajilatunnesa Mujib’s contribution to keep Bangabandhu inspired in all of his activities.   

He urged all to be instilled with the spirit of Bangabandhu’s ideology to materialize the father’s dream of a poverty free Golden Bengal under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

It was followed by inauguration of a ‘Bangabandhu Corner’ and tree plantation programme at the university campus.

Among others, Md. Khandakar Hamidur Rahman, Registrar of the university, Science Faculty Dean Dr Sushanta Kumar Bhattacharya, Controller of Examinations Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Deputy Registrar Mohiuddin Molla, Dr A H M Mahbubur Rahman, Chair of Social Works dept, Dr. Mahamudul Alam, chair of CSE dept, Dr. mohammad Shah jalal, chair of Mathematics dept. and other officers and employees of the university were also present during the occasions.
