The BNP nominated candidate for Chandpur municipality election Shafiqur Rahman Bhuyan passes away on Friday morning.

Shafiqur Rahman, who was also the former Mayor of the municipality, died of cardiac arrest at his residence.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held after Asr prayers at Hasan Ali High School Ground, family sources said.

The election to Chandpur municipality election was scheduled to be held on March 29.
