Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said not only expelled Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima Nur Papiya and her accomplices but also those, who are involved in wrongdoings, have been kept under ‘close observation’.
“Those, who backed Papiya in committing crimes, have been kept under the close observation of the law enforcers. The government’s ongoing anti-corruption drive will continue unless the target is fulfilled,” he said.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remark while addressing a press conference at AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s political office in the capital’s Dhanmondi area.
The AL leader also said if anyone of their party is involved in wrongdoing, terrorism, corruption, militancy, drug dealing or other crimes, he or she will be brought under the ambit of law through proper investigation.
“None will get spared, no matter he or she live in the remotest corner of the country,” he warned.
