Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said on Thursday a new battalion in Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party (VDP) was created to provide more security for the local and foreign Very Important Persons (VIPs).
“New battalion of Bangladesh Ansar has created to ensure intensified security for both the local and foreign VIPs,” he said, speaking at a “Flag Raising” ceremony of the new battalion and the concluding session of a 10-day training programme at Ansar and VDP academy.The home minister said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading the country in line with the spirit and ideal of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who built a non-communal Bangladesh.
Referring to making Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a guest, Asaduzzaman said, “We do everything following the political guidelines.”
The home minister inspected the parade of the newly inducted battalion and took salam from the disciplined force.
A total 1185 general Ansar members took part in the training programme.
He also gave award to three trainees for their outstanding performance there.
Additional Secretary of the Home Ministry Shaheed Ali, Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Major General Kazi Shahrif Kaikobad, ADG Brigadier General AKM Asif Iqbal and high officials concerned, among others, were present on the occasion.
