Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan indicted in drugs case

A Dhaka court on Wednesday framed charges in a narcotics case against former Dhaka city Jubo League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan.

Dhaka 3rd Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Robiul Alam passed the order in presence of Bhuiyan as he pleaded not guilty. The court set April 1 to start recording deposition of the witnesses.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 arrested Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan from his Gulshan residence on the evening of September 18, 2019, for allegedly running an illegal casino in the city’s Fakirerpool area.

The law enforcing agency seized illegal weapons, yaba and huge cash from his residence. RAB handed him over to Gulshan Police Station September 19 afternoon.

RAB filed three cases, one for possessing illegal arms, one under narcotics control act and one under money laundering prevention act against Khaled.
