Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed after six-hour disruption this morning due to dense fog.
The authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) suspended the ferry services on the route at 4:00am due to blurred visibility caused by dense fog, said assistant general manager Zillur Rahman of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority.
Later, the ferry services resumed around 10:00 am as the fog disappeared.
Several hundred vehicles remained stranded on both sides.
Poor visibility during winter regularly forces suspension of ferry services on the key route.
