UGC seeks vice-chancellors’ help to stop evening courses at public universities

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Kazi Shahidullah on Monday sought help of the vice-chancellors of the public universities to stop the evening courses at the higher educational institutes.

He also urged the vice-chancellors to come forward for introducing unified admission tests at public universities from next academic year saying that it would increase the image of the teachers of the universities.

He came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion with the VCs of the engineering and technology universities of the country at UGC Bhaban in the capital.

“The unified admission test is now a national demand. We will take proper steps for the benefit of the nation in this matter. With a positive attitude and responsibilities, the Vice-Chancellors and all concerned are expected to come forward in the regard,” he urged the VCs.
