PM’s intervention sought in reducing plane fare for hajj pilgrims

Bangladesh Hajj Pilgrims and Haji Kalayan Parishad has placed five-point demand including reduction of plane fare to less than Tk one lakh.

The leaders of the organisation also sought intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in this regard.

At a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city on Wednesday, Advocate Dr Abdullah Al Naser, president of the organisation, said they will have no alternative to take to street wearing clothes like Kafon (burial cloth), if the plane fare for hajj pilgrims is not reduced.

He said the plane fare for the hajj pilgrims has been fixed at Tk 1.40 lakh, which is three times higher than the normal price. And it is extremely high to the pilgrims.
