The administration of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) has detained 19 persons including five outsiders after conducting a raid on an illegal gambling at the office of the employees’ welfare trust of the university. 

The detained outsiders were handed over to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.     

The Pro-VC and Proctor of the university said actions will be taken against the detainees. 

Sources said the drive was conducted led by Pro-VC Prof Dr Md Sekander Ali at 11:30pm on Sunday.  

Prof Dr Md Sekander Ali said a number of university staffs along with five outsiders were detained for  illegal gambling.

The outsiders were handed over to police. Actions will be taken against the wrongdoers informing the Vice Chancellor, he added.
