A pick-up van of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) on Monday ran over a SSC candidate from behind near Baldha Garden in the capital's Wari area. The boy died on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Abir Ahmed, 15, a tenth-grade student at Wari High School.Confirming this to media, sub-inspector of Wari Police Station Jahir Hossain said, “The accident took place at around 10:00 am on Monday Morning.”
The victim was supposed to sit for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations this year, he said.
Students of the school blocked the road near Wari area protesting the death of their fellow student, halting traffic movement in the area.
