Orientation of 1st batch students at Aviation University held

The orientation programme of the first batch students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU) was held on the temporary campus of the university in the capital on Sunday.

BSMRAAU Vice-Chancellor Air Vice-Marshal AHM Fazlul Haque was present as chief guest at the ceremony where newly admitted students of three departments of the public university took part.

The university was established in 2019 with a view to creating a scope for expansion of higher education, research, modern knowledge practice on aviation. The university started its academic activities through admitting students under 2019-20 academic session.

The university will temporarily hold classes at old building of the Public Service Commission (PSC) in Tejgaon area of the capital. The permanent campus is being established in Lalmonirhat, by transforming the Lalmonirhat Airport that has been abandoned for long time.  

A branch of the university will also be set up at Ashkona, close to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
