Two students were abducted allegedly by a group of unidentified criminals from Tajmahal Road in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on Tuesday.

The kidnapped students are: Tanzim Al Islam Dibash, 17, an A-level student of English medium school ‘Vertical Horizon’ and Khalid Hasan Drubo, 19, a first year student of Dhaka College.

Tanzim is son of Kurigram District Bar Association’s general secretary Fakhrul Islam while Drubo is brother-in-law of Fakhrul.

Lawyer Fakhrul Islam filed an abduction case with Mohammadpur Police Station over the matter on Friday.

According to the case statement, some unidentified criminals kidnapped the duo from Tajmahal Road area on Tuesday and demanded Taka 50 lakh as ransom from Fakhrul Islam.
