HC issues rule over DUCSU VP Nur's passport

The High Court (HC) on Thursday issued a rule upon the government as to why the directive should not be given to provide the passport to Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur.

The HC bench of Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore and Justice Mohammad Ullah came up with the order and the rule during hearing on a writ petition.

The concerned department of the government has to comply with the rule within January 27.

Advocate Mohsin Rashid appeared in the court on behalf of Nurul Haque Nur.

The DUCSU vice president filed a writ at the High Court on August 1 as the passport office did not provide him with the passport citing that there are several lawsuits against him.
