The youngest son of ruling Awami League MP from Khulna-5 constituency Narayan Chandra Chanda on Wednesday allegedly attempted suicide by taking Harpic.

Avijit Chandra Chanda, panel chairman of Khulna District Council, was admitted to Khulna Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) at around 11:00pm on the night after suicide attempt.

Later, he was flown to Dhaka by air ambulance as his condition deteriorated further, a family source said seeking anonymity.  

But the reason behind his suicide attempt could not be known yet.
