Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Awami League (AL) lawmaker and former state minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique.

In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Ismat Ara, AL MP from Jashore-6 constituency, breathed her last this morning while undergoing treatment at a city hospital. She was 78.
