Breaching electoral code of conduct, ruling Awami league (AL) lawmaker Sadek Khan participated in the Dhaka city polls campaign for party nominated mayor candidate Md Atiqul Islam in the capital's Agargaon area on Tuesday.
AL leader Sadek Khan was spotted at an election campaigning stage built at Satadal Complex ground in Agargaon area for Atiqul Islam around 11:00 am.
Earlier on Saturday, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda warned that members of parliament (MPs) neither can take part in electioneering nor act as election coordinators in the upcoming polls to Dhaka north and south city corporation slated for January 30.
According to the City Corporation (Election Code of Conduct) Rules 2016, the very important persons enjoying the government privileges are not allowed to take part in city election campaign.
