BRAC Bank’s TARA trains up 50 more women entrepreneurs

BRAC Bank, in collaboration with SheTrades Commonwealth, has recently organized a workshop on fund management for female entrepreneurs who are engaged in export-oriented businesses.

The session was conducted by Md. Shabbir Nowsher PMP and Omar Farhan Khan from LightCastle Partners and Kazi A.B.M Bashir Ahmed, Head of Trade Operation, BRAC Bank Limited.

Among the 50 participants, we had members from International Trade Centre (ITC), SheTrades and Commonwealth of Bangladesh and our TARA SME customers. All the participants have more than a year’s experience in export-oriented business.

The facilitators discussed about financial products, business techniques and regulations of the Central Bank regarding export. The participants, during the daylong workshop on 21 December 2019, solved case studies that are similar to their own businesses. They also had an overview of TARA products. Later in a meet the expert session, the participants learned from the handson experience of Ms. Kohinoor Yeasmin, CEO of Tarango, a non-profit, national level, voluntary development organization.

A certificate of participation was given to each of the participants at the end of the workshop.

BRAC Bank values the undeniable role of women in society and launched TARA in May 2017 as part of exploring its avenues to empower women and cater their business needs. TARA aims to boost women’s self-esteem and enhance their decision making power through better access to knowledge regarding banking solutions.
