A Feni court on Tuesday sentenced a plaintiff of a case to ten-day imprisonment on charges of filing false cases and harassing people.
The plaintiff was identified as Abdul Khalek, a resident of Abdul Nabi village of Rajapur union at Dagonbhuiyan upazila in Feni.
The court in its verdict mentioned that it was proved that “Abdul Khalek intentionally filed both the cases for harassing the defendants. He got the punishment for refusing the matter and giving false information over the incident.”
Khalek filed a case with a Feni court accusing 11 people on December 19, 2011 on charge of vandalizing and setting fire at his house over a land dispute.
Later, Khalek’s daughter Marzina Aktar also filed another case accusing six people on December 22, the same month over the same incident.
After concluding the trial, another court recently acquitted all the accused in the case filed by Khalek’s daughter Marzina.
