Sangram editor remanded for 3-day

Sangram Editor Abul Asad court has been remanded for three-day in a case filed under Digital Security Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhiman Chandra Mandal passed the order after Inspector (Operation) of Hatirjheel Police Station Golam Azam, also investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court seeking a five-day remand.

Earlier in the day, Afzal Hossain, a freedom fighter, filed the case against the Sangram editor under the Digital Security Act.

On Friday evening, Abul Asad was taken to police’s safe custody following an attack on his office for running a report terming executed war criminal Abdul Quader Molla a “martyr”.

Molla, infamously known as 'the butcher of Mirpur', was hanged on Dec 12, 2013 after conviction by the International Crimes Tribunal.
