The Anti-Corruption commission (ACC) on Tuesday filed a case against Roads and Highways Department (RHD) former chief engineer Md Firoz Iqbal on charges of amassing illegal wealth.
ACC deputy Director Shahin Ara Momotaj filed the case with its integrated district office-1 in Dhaka against the RHD official, said ACC public relations officer (ACC) Pranb Kumar Bhattacharjee.
The RHD official amassed Tk 64.67 lakh beyond of his known sources of income and transferred money in different ways to hide the sources and location of money.
The case was filed under section 26 (2), 27 (1) of Anti-Corruption Act-2004 and section 4 (2) (3) of Money Laundering act-2012.
