Road crashes kill 4 in four districts

At least four people were killed in separate road accidents in Feni, Satkhira, Bagerhat and Barishal on Tuesday.

In Feni, a motorcyclist was killed in a road crash at Daganbhuiyan upazila.

The deceased was identified as Emran Hossain, 35, son of Tajul Islam, of the upazila.

According to family sources, a vehicle hit the motorcycle at 12:00 pm while he was going to Feni, leaving him injured.

Later, locals took the injured to Feni Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

In Satkhira, an elderly man was killed when a Trolly run over him while he was returning home at Sakhipur Bazar Mor of Debhata upazila.

The deceased was identified as shafiqul Islam, 60, hailing from Galgalia Rahimpur village of the upazila.

Biplob Kumar Saha, officer-in-charge (OC) of Debhata Police Station, confirmed the matter.

In Bagerhat, a minor boy was killed in a road accident at Pinguria area of Kachua upazila.

The deceased was identified as Byjid Sheikh, 5, son of Badsha Sheikh, of the area.

Habibur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of Kachua Police Staion, said that a passenger bus hit an auto-rickshaw carrying him at the area around 12:30 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

A process is underway to file a case in this connection, the SI said.

In Barishal, former army man was killed in a road accident on Barishal-Banaripara highway at Gabtala area.

The deceased was identified as Saidul Islam Swpan, 52.

Confirming the news, Md Asad, traffiq sergeant of Banaripara road, said that a Mahendra collided with a motorcycle coming from opposite direction on which Saidul was riding to go to Barishal at 9:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.

The body was kept at the Barishal Medical College and Hospital.
