Wife found dead in Chattogram, husband goes into hiding

Police recovered a body of a young woman from her residence at Khulshi area of the port city on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rosy Akter, 20, wife of Rezaul Karim, who worked as a security guard of the Port City International University.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulshi Police Station Pranab Chowdhury confirmed this to media.

Pranab Chowdhury said, “The lifeless body of Rosy was found from a residence in Jhautola Diesel Colony this morning. But police didn’t find the husband of the deceased in the residence.”

Quoting locals, the OC said that the couple had been living at the residence since March this year.

He also said, “Police recovered the body after being informed about the incident by residents of the colony.”

“The detailed will be revealed after finding Rezaul and drives are underway to nab him,” the OC said adding that: “We primarily suspect that Rosy was suffocated to death over a conjugal feud.”
