Abdul Awal Mintoo elected APSA executive committee member

Former FBCCI President and Lal Teer Seed Ltd Chairman Abdul Awal Mintoo has been elected one of the executive committee members of The Asia & Pacific Seed Association (APSA) for 2020-2022 tenure.

The election was held in Asian Seed Congress-2019 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday, said a press release.

Around 500 voting representatives from all leading seed companies of Asia & Pacific region participated in the election to choose their future leaders to lead the agriculture and seed sectors of this region in the crucial era of climate change.

The APSA was established in 1994 in cooperation of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and DANIDA, aiming to promote quality seed production and their marketing in the Asia and Pacific Region.

APSA is now the largest regional seed association in the world as it has strong links with international organisations such as FAO, CGIAR institutions, ISF, ISTA, UPOV, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Trade Organization, among others. APSA members include national seed associations, government agencies, public and private seed companies, and associate members.
