BNP leader Helal sent to jail in subversion case

A Dhaka court sent BNP leader Azizul Bari Helal to jail in a case lodged with capital’s Chawkbazar Police Station for allegedly committing subversive activities.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mondal passed the order as Helal surrendered before the court and pleaded for bail.

Police filed the case on December 24, 2014, for carrying out subversive activities against Helal along with his party colleagues marking appearance of BNP chief Khaleda Zia before a makeshift court in capital’s Bakshibazar area.
