96 robbers surrender in Cox’s Bazar

A total of 96 robbers gives up their arms and surrenders to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

The bandits, from twelve groups including ‘Khausarbar Group’, ‘Kalabor Group’ and ‘Ayub Bahini’ and local firearms makers, surrendered their weapons – 150 firearms, 2,000 improvised bombs and sharp weapons –at Kalarmarchara Government Primary School in Maheshkhali upazila.

Iqbal Hossain, the Additional Superintendent of Cox’s Bazar police, said robbers, including notorious firearms maker Zafar Alam, surrendered before Home Minister.

 Inspector General of Police Javed Patwary was also present there.

MM Akram Hossain, a private TV channel journalist, worked as mediator.
