2nd IDLC Theatre Festival begins on 19 November

IDLC Finance Limited’s 2nd Theatre festival 2019 has been inaugurated on November 19, 2019 at Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy, Shegunbagicha, Dhaka, with an aim to celebrate the long heritage of Theatre in Bangladesh. 
The inauguration ceremony has been graced by Honorable Member of Parliament of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Asaduzzaman Noor, a veteran and one of the most instrumental behind the development of the group theatre of Bangladesh. IDLC’s CEO & MD Arif Khan along with Ramendu Majumdar (Special Guest), the honorable president of International Theatre Institution (ITI) was also present at the occasion.  The ceremony was also attended by many theatre enthusiasts & performers.
Rachel Priyanka the renowned classical dancer of the country performed Gauriya Nritya in the opening day.  Ten of the most renowned theater groups; Dhaka University’s Theatre and Performance Studies Department, Nattochokkro, Tarua, Podatik Nattyo Shongshod, Shobdo Nattochorcha Kendro, Somoy Nattodol, Dhaka Theatre, Arshinagar, Theater and Nagorik Nattyangon will perform in the fest. 
In the first day of the fest popular drama “Rosh Puran” & “Voddornok” has been staged, and from the 2nd day “Let me out”, “Gohor Badsha & Banesha Pori”, “Paicho Chorer Kissha” “Chondraboti”, “Vager Manush & Dhaboman will be staged consecutively. In the fifth & last day of the fest there will be a closing ceremony & two dramas: Rohu Chondaler Har & Payer Awaj Pawya Jai will be staged.
The fest is open to general public and those who are interested may collect online passes by visiting official website www.idlc.com/natyautshob. The ticket price of this year is taka 100 per person per drama which will be donated to the theatre federation kollayan trust for the development of the sector.
