Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) has given farewell to 29 retired teachers of the university on November 16 in programme at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban.
Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman attended the program as chief guest and handed over crest among the retired teachers.Presided over by DUTA President Prof Dr A S M Maksud Kamal, the function was addressed by Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin, former DU VC Prof Dr A K Azad Chowdhury and Prof Dr S M A Faiz.
DUTA General Secretary Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam conducted the function. Deans of different faculty, provosts of different hall and chairmen of different department were present in the event.
Vice-Chancellor Akhtaruzzaman said, Dhaka University will always remember the contribution of the retired teachers to education and research with gratitude. He hoped that their involvement with the university would continue in future. He wishes them good health and longevity.
