An elderly man has been slaughterd by miscreants at Kholabari village of Tarash upazila in Sirajganj on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Yasin Ali, 65, a resident of Aliapur village in Ullapara upazila.

Locals spotted Yasin’s body with multiple chopping wounds lying on a road on Sunday morning and informed police, said Mahbub Alam, officer-in-charge of Tarash Police Station.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy.
