Businessman stabbed to death in broad daylight in Bogura

A businessman was stabbed to death by some unidentified miscreants in broad daylight at Addirgola bazaar of Sabgram union under Sadar upazila in Bogura on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim, 51, was a hatchery trader, hailing from Chackjhapur village of the upazila.

The tragic incident happened at 10:00 am this morning in the area.

Quoting locals, police said that Rahim went to the bazar at 9:45 am. At that time, some miscreants suddenly stabbed him with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.

Confirming the news, Sanatan Chakrabarty, additional superintendent of police (sadar circle) in Bogura, said that Rahim might have been murdered over a dispute with a local Awami League leader.

The police officer also said that the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Bagura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy, adding that the matter is being investigated.
