ACC interrogates Dhaka Bank’s managing director Mahbub over corruption

The Anti-Corruption Commission has interrogated Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of Dhaka Bank Limited, over corruption and other irregularities, including abuse of power, bribery and loan fraudulence.

Public relations officer of Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed this to the daily sun on Monday.

A team, led by deputy director of the ACC Abu Bakar Siddique started the interrogation at its Segunbagicha headquarters in the capital at 10:00 am, he said.

Mahbubur Rahman was also interrogated over the same charge on November 6.

Earlier on October 31, the anti-graft body issued a notice summoning him to appear before the commission for interrogation on November 6.

Mahbubur Rahman has been charged with abuse of power, bribery, massive loan scam, fake LC, money laundering and fund embezzlement, according to the notice.
