Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan graced the opening ceremony of Kolkata International Film Festival, which took place on Friday.
The 25th edition of the film festival saw the presence of veteran personalities, reports The Indian Express.Actor Rakhee was one of the actors to attend the ceremony while we saw actor-turned-politician Nusrat Jahan, actor Parambrata and other film personalities, including German filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff, Slovakian filmmaker Dusan Hanak, producer and actress Andie Macdowell attended the inaugural event.
Shah Rukh advocated the need to celebrate the diversity in the country.
Giving fans a moment to remember, SRK delivered his dialogue from Raees but in praise of the city and the festival.
SRK also shared some candid moments with Rakhee, chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee and cricket legend Sourav Ganguly. In fact, Rakhee was seen teaching SRK some Bengali.
As many as 214 films, 152 shorts and documentaries from 76 countries will be screened at KIFF 2019.
