“Shall I have to return to my country in a box”: Freedom fighter Khoka repeatedly asked his son before his demise

Deceased Sadeque Hossain Khoka’s son Ishraq Hossain has said his father used to ask him whether he had to return in a box (coffin) the country that he emancipated with his own hand.

“Abbu (father) frequently said to me, “Shall I have to return in a box to Bangladesh that I freed with my own hand?” At last, his words came true. He was brought back to the country. But he was brought here packed in a coffin,” Ishraq was saying this while speaking before the second namaz-e-janaza of freedom fighter Khoka on Thursday morning.

The body of former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation Sadeque Hossain Khoka was brought back to the country this morning.

The second namaz-e-janaza of Khoka was held at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad at 11:15am.

Later, his body was kept at the Central Shaheed Minar so that people could pay their tribute to the freedom fighter.
