Pakistan former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was taken to hospital after his health condition deteriorated, according to reports on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, a personal physician of Sharif, Adnan Khan had raised a concern about his deteriorating health and urged the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government to immediately shift him to hospital for treatment, reports The Statesman.
Following Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s warning, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif also issued a statement, demanding the Punjab government shift his brother to the hospital without further delay.
Earlier this month, the National Accountability Bureau had issued arrest warrants against Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case and was likely to present him before an accountability court.
Sharif has been serving a seven-year imprisonment in Al-Azizia Mills corruption case. NAB has already arrested his daughter Maryam Nawaz and nephew Yousuf Abbas in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. Both of them are on judicial remand till Oct 23.
In August, two government hospitals had denied a specialised cardiac ambulance facility for emergency medical cover to Nawaz Sharif in the Central Jail.
