A couple was electrocuted in Konapara area of Jatrabari in the capital on Saturday.

The deceased are identified as Jahangir Alam, 50, and his wife Aklima Begum, 35, resident of Pirojpur district.

Confirming the news, Jatrabari Police Station SI Laizu said that Jahangir came in contact with a live wire early in the morning and Aklima cam to rescue him, leaving both the husband and the wife dead on the spot.
