Rangpur sub-registrar sued for embezzling TK 3.3cr

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed a case against Pirganj Sub-Registrar of Rangpur on charge of amassing nearly TK 3.3 crore beyond known sources of income and concealing wealth information.

ACC assistant director Jahangir Alam filed the case with it’s Rangpur combined district office accusing Pirganj Sub-Registrar Md Shamsuzzaman Sardar under the sections of 26 (2) and 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2004, Public Relations Officer of ACC Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee told the Daily Sun.  

He said, “The accused gave false and fabricated information and concealed Tk 1,28,29,068 while submitting the wealth details to the commission and amassed Tk 2,00,87,401 beyond known sources of his income.”
