Painter succumbs to dengue in Kushtia

A painter died of mosquito-borne diseases dengue while undergoing treatment at Kushtia General Hospital on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Palan Sheikh, 45, son of late Dhonai Sheikh, hailing from Sherakandi village of Kumarkhali upazila.

Hannan Sheikh, brother of the deceased, said that Palan was first admitted to Kumarkhali Upazila Health Complex on Monday (October 7) with dengue fever. Later, doctor of the hospital referred him to Kushtia General Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He died around 9:00 pm in the hospital, Hannan added.

Dr Tapas Kumar Sarker, residential Physician (RP) of the hospital, confirmed the matter.
