Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a press conference on Wednesday to brief the newsmen about her recent visits to the United Nations and India.
The conference will be held at her official residence Ganabhaban at 3:30pm, PM’s press wing said.
During her visit in New York, Sheikh Hasina delivered her speech at the UNGA in Bangla.
She exchanged pleasantries with US President Donald Trump and held a meeting with UN Secretary General António Guterres.
She also held a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sheikh Hasina received two international awards —‘Champion of the Skills Development for Youths’ Award and ‘Vaccine Hero’ award — during her visit to New York.
She also had talks separately with ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, Co-Chair of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Bill Gates, UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development Queen Maxima and Honorary President of Global Hop Coalition Irina Bokova.
During her maiden India visit after assuming office for the third consecutive term, the premier held bilateral talks with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at the historic Hyderabad House in New Delhi on October 5 picking up the threads of discussion during their recent bilateral meeting on the fringes of the 74th UNGA session in New York.
Both the premiers jointly launched three projects after signing seven deals following their bilateral talks.
She also paid a courtesy call on Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan on the same day.
In the evening, Sheikh Hasina received ‘Tagore Peace Award 2018’ in New Delhi in recognition of her contribution to maintaining regional peace and prosperity.
The Asiatic Society, Kolkata presented the award to the premier at a function at Taj Mahal Hotel.
