A month-long painting exhibition titled ‘Open Door’ by Proshanta Karmakar Buddha is underway at Radius Gallery in the capital’s Gulshan area.
The exhibition is featuring a total of 26 acrylic paintings.The paintings depict different subjects like freedom, social anomalies, secularism, Himalayan saints, women, plight of the working class and others.
National professor Anisuzzaman inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest on September 20 while Standard Chartered Bank global subsidiaries director Sabah Saleheen Azim and Cosmos Group’s Deputy Head of H.R Kate Jaro Khan attended the opening ceremony as special guests.
Over many years Proshanta Karmakar has continued to create exquisite art which stimulates memories and dreams, emotions and perspectives.
Born on Faridpur on January 17 in 1965, artist Proshanta Karmakar Buddha bagged many national and international awards. He was awarded Best Award on Printmaking at the National Young Artist’s Exhibition by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Okamoto Award by Asian Cultural Center for UNESCO in Japan and others.
