Children rally against climate change in Dhaka

Nearly 3,000 school and college students took part in a protest rally on Friday urging global leaders to act against climate change.

The rally was jointly arranged by Save the Children and Green Savers in the city's Manik Mia Avenue expressing solidarity with the 'Global Climate Strike' starting from September 20.

General students, including Rover Scouts, Girl Guides and school cabinet members, attended the rally with placards and banners demanding swift actions against climate change.

In August last year, Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg stood up with a placard against climate change in front of the Swedish Parliament. She later formed a global anti-climate movement called 'Friday for the Future'.

Greta called on children around the world to participate in the movement. By ensuring their participation, children around the world are calling on people from all levels, including their network, family members, teachers, professionals and others, to participate in the movement.

The 'Friday for the Future' platform is working to raise awareness about the impact of climate change among children around the world and to highlight the strategic position of countries affected by climate change.
