Prompt actions to be taken against extortionists in BCL: Acting President

The newly appointed acting president of BCL Al Nahian Khan Joy has said that prompt action will be taken against extortionists and illegal tender traders.

He made the statement at a press conference held at Dhaka University's (DU) Madhur Canteen around 12:30pm on Sunday.

Nahian said:  "The new leaders will run Chhatra League as per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s instructions."

The new acting general secretary of the ruling party's student wing, Lekhak Bhattacharya, said: “Our biggest challenge is to arrange the central council of within 10 months.

Earlier on Saturday, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and General Secretary Golam Rabbani have been relieved of their posts in the wake of various allegations, including extortion.
