Newborn baby girl left abandoned at DMCH

The parents of a newborn baby girl fled the scene keeping the baby abandoned at ward no 211 of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday night.

The baby girl was born to Nahar and Rasel at 5am at DMCH on September 13. The parents hailed from Mirpur in the capital.

Confirming the matter, DMCH Assistant Director Dr Nasiruddin said: "The parents have not been seen since last night [September 14]. The baby is healthy, and is currently in the pediatric ward."

“If the parents do not return, or if no one else makes a claim, we will hand over the baby to Chotomoni Nibash following necessary protocol," he added.
