Schoolboy succumbs to dengue at SBMCH

A 14-year-old boy succumbed to dengue fever at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMCH) in Barishal on Wednesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Farhad Hossain Jihad, 14, a student of class seven in Local Charlaxmipur Adarsha Secondary School, son of Bablu Ahmmed, hailing from Maddho Charlaxmipur village at Sadar union of Muladi upazila in Barishal.

According to hospital sources, that Jihad was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night (Sep 10) with dengue fever and he died around 1:20 pm today while undergoing treatment.

Dr Asit Bhushan Das, head of unit-1 of medicine ward in the hospital, confirmed the death.
