The Education Ministry has decided to introduce the grade point average (GPA) 4 system instead of existing GPA 5 for all public examinations in school and college level in the country.

The results of the Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations will be made under the new grading method from 2020 and those of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) will be made accordingly from 2020.

The decision was finalised in a workshop which was held at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium with Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni in chair on Sunday.

Earlier, on June 13, the government disclosed a decision of replacing GPA-5 by GPA-4 to introduce the international grading system so that students of the country do not have to suffer during higher study abroad.
